A message from President Obama too.
The White House - Blog Post - Diwali Wishes From President Obama (http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/Diwali-Wishes-From-President-Obama/)
who cares...... well..... 'ignorant' 'inward looking' 'large ego' 'nothing to ask' 'nothing to do' desi care.....
what difference does it make if google has an icon or wh/obama send a message on dewali...... its only symbolism..... not a cent more...... few jerks will claim "victory" for getting wh lights..... but does it help even a single soul with his/her problems...... absolutely not..... so don't tell me that google icon of dewali or lights in wh has any relevance..... this topic is for those who have no real issue to talk and no real problem in life...... but are simply busy stroking their own inward looking large egos....... anybody disagree? ...... guess not.....

[quote=Britsabroad;56879]Hey Ed - I chickened out on the Abes deal after reading the reviews - sounds like they make you work hard for your discount. If you went for it, let me know the outcome.
I read quite a few reviews beforehand... All over the board, I am happy to say my experience was fine.
Here is how the purchase went...
They called before sending it out, asked if I was interested in a battery and mentioned about purchasing the extended warranty. I told them that I may be interested in the warranty however I will read the information on line and call them back. I was sure to call back, I did not want to delay the order... I declined the extended warranty, since the one offered was not Nikon's. He did ask why and mentioned "everyone" gets it. That was the extent of the warranty discussion.
After looking over the site, they also have an extended warranty through Nikon (2 year) That can be purchased before a 10 days lapse of owning the camera.

My H1B expired in April 2008. My company is not willing to extend H1B any more due to the reason that I got EAD and I-140 approved and pending 485. Is it possible to get H1B extension from current or future company based on approved I-140? Or Is it too late?
You might wondering why do I need H1B now. I am not sure why I need H1B. Some of my friends who had trouble in their I-140/485 were able to survive with H1B. So, it looks like it is better to have dual. H1B and EAD.
Please advise.

Thank you very much for your response. Yes we have received a 3yr extension (approval notice). in that case, I am assuming that we would have to go to the US embassy overseas to get H1B and H4 stamped on the passport opon returning back to the usa?
Yes, you will have to go to the US embassy for Visa stamping and use it to re-enter US whenever you travel overseas the next time. Btw, I am assuming you got your H1 extension approval with a I-94 attached. If not, you will have to leave the US immediately and get a visa stamp and re-enter on H1 in order to maintain a valid H1 status and continue to work legally. If you got an I-94 attached with H1 extension approval, then you can continue to stay/work in US as long as your H1 extension is valid. You don't need a VISA stamp unless you travel overseas.

:confused:Hi all,
I have a situation,
I joined employer A and substituted labor with 2004 priority date. And it has been approved already, my understanding is labor substitution is nothing but filing I 140 but with some one else labor.
My current situation is, I got a perm job and have approached company attorney and she saying / asking, since this is labor substitution case, so, I need to have letter from employer A saying that labor used for me was initially filed for person X and he later left the company. Hence that has been used for me.
This is required to prove that there is no fraud happened while filing my case.
As you all know, in this current situation, I can not go back and ask employer A about that letter.
Any suggestions etc please provide.
Just to remember
REQUEST A SET OF COPIES WHEN EVER ATTORNEY FILING / FOLLOW UP ANY RFE etc FOR YOU. IRRESPECTIVE WHETHER YOU PAY OR COMPLANY PAYS GC FEES
Thanks,
Are you trying to port your job and join the potential new employer using EAD or transfer H1B visa?, I am surprised an immigration attorney is asking for such letter, labor substitution is/was always done in good faith in most cases, but there is no way to prove a fraud is involved unless the labor was filed using a non-existent person( if you remember the convicted guy Nick Mandelapa which ultimately lead to closing the abuse of labor substitution).Even if your previous employer is ethical and acted in good faith while doing labor substitution, giving such undertaking is far reaching and not required, for one reason labor certification legally belongs to your employer and not to the underlying employee, so getting such letter is a merely a chance. I guess in your case you've disclosed too many information about you past legal route causing concern for the new employer to hire you. Try to talk to HR and see that you're responsible for maintaining the employment authorization, but if you're taking H1B transfer just confine to H1B transfer, hire your own separate attorney to manage your I 485, as it belongs to you.
Good Luck

Hi
I had filed my I-485 in Jun 2007 my PD is Nov 2005 and was called for an interview at the local USCIS office in Feb 2009. My I-485 was pre-approved, now I am about to apply for AP renewal.
The question I have is which service center do I mail in my AP renewal docs? My original application was filed in Nebraska. So do I file it there or send it to service center in Missouri? Can any one who has similar experience post the answer to this?
Thnks

After the renewal, I got a passport with a new passport number (the old passport is still there stapled with the new one).
My labor and H1B all have the old #. Is there a need to do anything with the new passport number wrt to my existing H1 and labor and such?

There are atleast 100 immigration doctor centers, and you will get an appointment in 1 week. Also they do package deals, so you can go brokeback (mountain) in 3 days.

I just skimmed through the page and I see that there are 7 or 8 questions on Highly Skilled Immigration. Any one interested can post their Q as well so that we can make more impact. There are only 300 Q's and I hope he addresses Legal Immigration. Post your Q's. He is an expected Senatorial Candidate in 2008 out of VA.
Any update on this ? Did he answer any legal immigration questions ?

Hi,
I have received an EAD (I-140 Approved) for future employment through a company that I never worked for. Can I use AC21 to port the GC process to the current employer? Does the current employer need to file a new LC/140?
Please let me know. Thanks for your help.
I am assuming that your I 485 is pending for more than 180 days and I 140 is approved with an employer who you never worked for. You are working for different employer on EAD and want to use AC21 to continue working for that employer:
THIS MAY BE A PROBLEM.
When you never worked for GC sponsoring employer, USCIS can raise the question of actual existance of the job position ever. Burden of proof will fall on you and your GC sponsoring employer that "There was a position for real and it was offered to you and you intended to work indefinitely for that position upon approval of GC". This is difficult to prove if you NEVER worked for that position. This may become grounds for denial of 485 and also may create problems in future (at the time of naturalization).
I would advise you to get a good advise from a competent attorney (it is money worth spent). Starting a new GC process with the new employer may be a safer option, but it may mean several years. Another option is to wait for GC and then upon approval of GC work for the sponsoring employer for at least some time.
Good Luck.
