Again I did not get any response for my query. Looks like members here are more into GC stuff than other issues. Anyway as always, I contacted chennai consualte to learn more about my concern, here comes their reply. I hope this will be helpfull to someone wout their .

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your email.
Once you take a confirmed appointment, modifications in terms of adding a new applicant cannot be made. However, you may cancel your existing appointment and then apply together as a family. (The Consulate encourages applicants to schedule appointment together).
Please note that canceling your appointment for a second time would lead to deactivation of your receipt for the next 90 days.
Kindly note that the modifications on Q.No 1 to 14 in DS-156 cannot be made, either you need to cancel the appointment and schedule a new appointment or you could go ahead with your appointment and inform the consular officer of the same wherein the final decision would be that of the consular officer.
You can cancel your appointment only two times. After the second cancellation your HDFC Visa Fee Receipt is deactivated for 90 calendar days. You will not be able to book another appointment until the 90 days have passed.

All,
I am currently unemployed and my spouse needs to travel to Mumbai urgently. Our AP is valid through November 30, 2009. Will there be any issues for my wife when she comes back - possibly because of my current status. Wife is employed (with a different company)& the EAD/AP was filed by my last employer. That's great news - IV's efforts are paying off now. Not sure if they give two years for all EAD's applications (either renewal or new) that are currently pending. Now I wish my application will get a bit delayed in processing :)
Anyway its a good news that they are starting it from June end.

Yes, The VISA page is readable. But I am not sure if it is readable by machines electronically in case if there is any invisible damage to it. Does it must be readable by electronic machines too?

Am assuming that in this case clarify has to get his part time employer to file for a NEW h1, which ofcourse means he is under the h1b quota, which was exhausted on the first day they started accepting it for 2008.
So I guess clarify is better off with his EAD.

My wife and I are scheduled to go for fingerprinting this month. We have a year old son and obviously we are planning to take him with us as well. Do I need to take any form of ID / birth certificate of my son (obviously he is not to be fingerprinted) but not sure what the rules are with respect to carrying infants for the interview. Anyone who has fingerprinted in a similar situation?
We took our 17 month old daughter with us. You should not have a problem with that.
BTW, The only problem we had was that our daughter was scared of the tough looking security guy and she started crying as soon as she saw him and we had a hard time consoling her :)

Here is my interpertation,
"Cancelled without Prejuidice" means that they have cancelled the visa as it is no longer needed as they have approved you for your Permanent Residence. It also means that if you do not keep your Permanent Residence (you mentioned conditional in your note - so I'm presuming marriage based GC?) then you will have no difficulties in ever getting another visa should you ever need one.
if a visa is cancelled WITH prejudice - then you would have had great difficulty in ever getting another US Visa.

My question is that. Can I visit Canada for less than 30 days and coming back without the need to get a visa (automatic visa re-validation) OR I have to get a visa?
I am worried because I never have a stamped H1B visa on my passoprt. Only H1B status + I94 which are not attached to the passoprt?
I need your help and how can I make sure as I do not want to lose my job.

I remember a bulletin from Murthy.com a few months back mentioning a rule where people going for first time H1 B stamping (from F1, H4) cannot get their H1 stamped in Mexico and the rule was soon to be followed in Canada as well. Please search the Murthy.com site for more information on this but i would advice going to home country.

My wife has MSc in Comp and has work experience of 2 yrs as a programmer in India. She came last year on F2 and applied for H1 this year but She didn't get selected in the lottery. Someone told her that she can apply for jobs in universities and they do H1 (no cap).
Can someone tell us that this is true? and also suggest us where else can she try looking for jobs? Are all the Not-for-Profit organizations same in terms of doing H1 (no cap)?
I appreciate any suggestions and thanks in advance.

I want to know how this can be possible. A few folks who work with me claim that some folks whom they know well have got GC in Feb 2007, even though there PD is June 2005.
They are all from India. I am sitting here with Aug 2001 PD, just cleard from BEC and waiting to file 140 and 485.
Do you think there is any truth to the previous statements of my friend ?
